Synopsis of Play: During the mid-1980s, the detriments that manmade chemicals have on our environment was finally realized. In 1986, a team of eight scientists from around the world went on an eight-and-a-half-month expedition to the South Pole Research Station. They had a duty to determine if there was truly a hole in the ozone layer over Antarctica caused by manmade chemicals. This play follows the scientists along their expedition through the coldest and most dangerous place on Earth. The play also consists of inner issues that the Russian and American Scientists are involved with due to the motives of the Cold War. The team must work together to solve these inner issues and to survive. This six-hour production is an extremely vital story for todays audiences to realize the importance of decreasing pollution to combat climate change.
