Synopsis of Play: Ada Byron is a curious young woman and mathematician who is being pushed for a prestigious marriage by her mother, who is hoping to repair their damaged reputation set by the late Lord Byron, Ada’s father. However, when Ada meets Charles Babbage, her interest is spiked. He seems like her perfect match – he’s a scholar and a dreamer, but their age difference prevents their friendship from becoming anything more. Despite Ada’s marriage to Lord Lovelace, Babbage’s model of the Analytical Engine creates a long-lasting partnership between the two scientists that causes their deplored love for each other to be kept aflame.
