Synopsis of Play: Cancer Tales is a series of five linked, short plays by Nell Dunn that tell the story of seven women, either patients with cancer or close relatives. Each play tells one patient’s cancer journey, from diagnosis to either long remission or death, and they are interlinked with the action and dialogue switching seamlessly from one point of view to another. Strikingly, all the stories are true, taken down verbatim from conversations between Dunn and patients with cancer, carers, and medical professionals.
